APES - Albany Artists

It has been a long time but I am back! Painting again with the APES, Albany Painting Enthusiasts. I am humbled by the expertise of the artists in the group.

I am doing this for fun and relaxation.

The tulips are acrylic on Yupo paper. See them at the Albany Art Show at Lasells Stewart Center though the end of May 2010.

Crescent City, California, has one of the most painted and photographed light houses in Northern California. It is a beautiful and scenic spot to visit. I was lucky enough to have a friend invite me to attend a watercolor workshop at the nearby art center. Many months after I came home I was looking at my photos and thought I should do the lighthouse.

Now my painting is showing in the Albany Painting Enthusiasts Art Show at the LaSells Stewart Center of the OSU campus in Corvallis, Oregon.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I almost made it through another year. Took down my aloha art exhibit today....five watercolors painted in Hawaii or from photos I took in paradise. Gallery was disappointing. Too new and no advertising to let prople know that these six artists had so many nice pieces of art on display in a downtown gallery.

I have all those nice frames, an invitation to spend time in Kauai in July and still have the passion for creating. Had some fun with acrylic on yupo at Christmas.

I think this year I came to realize that there is some good life after the death of a spouse. It is not the same but life does go on. Now I want to make a better life for myself in the new year. Need the help of all my friends and family more than ever.
